∘ Drift details the adventures of a paper boat lost in a sewers and the magnificent things it finds
∘ The Project was a semester long assignment in which I lead a team of 6.
∘ I was responsible for managing the teams schedule, mentoring under classman, and guiding members through the animation pipeline.
∘ Beyond project management, I was responsible for the water simulation and dynamics, environment surfacing (walls//pipes//ect), and pipeline management.

∘ Given the Horizontal nature of the short, getting Orthographic Renders were a must.
∘ The Environment was designed to thematically transition between mechanical to organic and warm to cool lighting as boat moved through the scene
∘ The Renders: Starting with the Models by Robert Harwerth [1], The Surfacing using Visual Development Lighting [2], Shot Lighting [3], and then The Hero Shot of the Final Short [4]
∘ The Renders show the Visual Development Render of the Environment in a side by side view with the Environment Lighting.
∘ In order to create the look of Drift various smart materials were created in Substance Painter which allowed for accelerated workflows as the environment adapted
∘ As a team, seeing progress over time was important to us
∘ Documenting the Various stages of the creative design process helped us further visualize our growth from concept to final comp
